The sets for locations like Ruby’s (a milk bar and pool hall where Hartley High students frequently hung out) and, later on, The Shark Pool (another important hangout location) were both constructed in an empty classroom at Maroubra Bay High School.

For series six and seven of the original “Heartbreak High,” the filming location for the school changed when the in-universe school that the main characters were attending also changed. They set the two final series at another fictitious school, Hartley Heights. They filmed these series at the real-life Peninsula Anglican Boys School in Warriewood in the lovely Northern Beaches region of Sydney. That school has since become St Luke’s Grammar School in the last few years.
