You may already know that most Hollywood shows aren’t actually shot on-location. That means we have to do a little traveling away from the Gulf Shore to answer the question: where was “Hart Of Dixie” filmed?

An article from This Is My South tells us that they filmed the majority of the show on sets in California. The only part of the show they filmed elsewhere was the pilot, which they shot in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Wilmington is also known as “Hollywood East” or “Wilmywood” because of the plethora of television shows that are produced there. Fans of “Hart Of Dixie” will be familiar with “Wilmywood” because they filmed other drama classics like “One Tree Hill” and “Dawson’s Creek” there.

Now we know they shot the pilot of the series in Wilmington, North Carolina. Next, we can get down to the fun part of answering the question: where was “Hart Of Dixie” filmed? As we show you some of these locations please keep in mind that a few of them are private residences.

If you do decide to take your own trip to Bluebell like Zoe Hart, here are a few of the places that you can go ahead and see for yourself.

Kicking things off is the beautiful office where Zoe’s inherited medical practice can be found. According to Narcity, this isn’t actually an office space – but a residential home on S Second Street. They also have the location of “The Dixie Stop”, which they say is actually Village Market Grocery on S Second Street.

Next on our list of real-life Bluebell locations is Mayor Hayes’ plantation home. This is Tannehill Estate, another private residence in Wilmington. Just like the medical practice, this is another place to drive past and snap a few pictures while you’re picturing that you’re right at home in Bluebell!

As we mentioned earlier, everything after the pilot episode of “Hart Of Dixie” was shot on Warner Brothers Studio Backlot. That means it can be a little harder than usual to see where the action was since there aren’t real-life locations you can go to any time of the day. However, the good news is that Warner Brothers Studio does offer tours of their set. This means you can see some of where they filmed “Hart Of Dixie” along with tons of your other favorites!

One of the specific “Hart Of Dixie” locations that you can expect to see is the town square, which they featured prominently throughout the show’s four seasons. A blogger at Live The Movies went and chronicled some of the familiar sights that you’ll find if you go on this tour for yourself.

She mentions that the same town square was in the show “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Gilmore Girls.” Even though “Hart Of Dixie” is supposed to take place down south, the town square is called “Midwest Town” by the studio.

Still, to those of us who know it is always going to be a perfect little slice of Dixie. There are plenty of other locations for you to find from “Hart Of Dixie” if you go on the tour. You can find tons of other memorable spots from the show, such as the Rammer Jammer, Bluebell Community Church, or Wade and Zoe’s pond.

Speaking of: check out the filming locations for “Pretty Little Liars” next!
