If you have read anything about the first “A Quiet Place” movie, then you may remember that it was filmed in New York State. Some of the sights in the sequel certainly look familiar, but we’re still left with the question: where was “A Quiet Place 2” filmed?

The production had a lot of success filming in New York the first time around, so it’s no wonder they returned for another go at it. By filming in the same area they were able to maintain a cohesive world from the first movie to the next.

According to the film’s IMDB page, production took place in the city of Buffalo, as well as the towns Akron and Olcott. One of the specific locations that they returned to is the rusted bridge with a cross memorial. According to Atlas of Wonders, this is the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail bridge in New Paltz. Fans of “A Quiet Place” will certainly want to make this a part of any location hunt.

The movie starts with a flashback to the day of the Death Angel invasion. The disparity between what it looked like prior to what we see in the movie’s present day is jarring and sure to make you ask the question: where was “A Quiet Place 2” filmed?

We first see the Abbott family at a little league game, they see an asteroid fall from the sky that unbeknownst to them, is carrying the deadly alien species. According to Atlas of Wonders, the baseball field is Stenzel Street Field in North Tonawanda. Hopefully if you decide to play a game of baseball here your game will be uninterrupted by Death Angels!

After the realization of what was in the asteroid, the family is involved in a high-speed escape from the Death Angels and a runaway city bus. The town that we see them traveling through is Millbrook in the movie – but in real-life, this was the transformed city streets of Akron, according to a Buffalo ABC affiliate. The production shut down the street for a week while they perfected the daring stunt involving the bus.

As we mentioned before, Buffalo is one of the locations that the production used for the movie. There is a particular shot in the movie that involves a bridge left abandoned with cars that is sure to make you ask: where was “A Quiet Place 2” filmed?

The Cinemaholic reports that Grand Island Bridge was shut down for 13 hours for the memorable shot. They also mention that the production was based at Buffalo FilmWorks, where most of the interiors were shot on soundstages. Buffalo was also a great spot because of some of its old industrial sites around the city, which make for a perfect representation of the post-apocalypse.

Water plays an important role in “A Quiet Place 2”. The characters learn of possible survivors on a nearby island, and eventually that the Death Angels cannot swim. One of the first waterfront locations that the Abbotts visit is a shipping harbor, where they intend to take a boat to the island. According to The Cinemaholic, these scenes were filmed at the Barcelona Harbor on E. Lake Road in Chautauqua County.

Lastly, at the end of the movie, the Abbotts finally reach the survivors living on a small island colony. This, according to Atlas of Wonders, is the Dunkirk Camp and Conference Center, overlooking Lake Erie.

We hope and expect to see more of the island colony in the upcoming third installment in the “A Quiet Place” series, slated to be released in 2025. Whatever is in store for the Abbott family next, we’ll be glued to our seats watching it!
