There’s so much fun to be had when planning a “Peaky Blinders” party. In fact, the 1920s theme leaves a lot to work with and elevates your usual period party.

Here are a few tips for making things feel authentic to the aesthetic:

Location

You’ll want the decor and location to be as immersive as possible to truly throw a proper “Peaky Blinders” party. The best way to do that is by checking out some of the fantastic venue options on Peerspace. Stay tuned until the end when we’ll share a few examples!

Dress code

Have your guests all come in period-appropriate clothing – that means suits for the gents and flapper dresses for the ladies. For added fun, encourage people to dress up as their favorite character from the show!

Invites

Not everybody would get into a party thrown by Thomas Shelby and his gang, make sure everybody knows this is a VIP-only affair! Send out some themed invites like these ones on Etsy to let your guests know they’ve made the list.

Cocktails

Create a drink list full of classic British cocktails like Whiskey Sours, Gin Rickeys, and Old Fashioneds. Or try something from this book of official “Peaky Blinders” cocktail recipes!

Food

You’ll want a list full of classic British pub food and snacks that fit the theme. We recommend basics like fish and chips or bangers and mash! However, if you want to try some more involved recipes, grab the official “Peaky Blinders” recipe book and cook up something that would make the boss happy.

Games

The Shelby Boys love to gamble, so setting up a card or game area at your party is a perfect way to keep guests entertained and immersed in the theme. If you’re looking to mix in a little competition, planning a trivia game to test everyone’s show knowledge is a great way to get a little rowdy.

Music

Stick with period-appropriate jazz and party tunes from the early 1900s to keep things feeling authentic. If you want a more modern sound, feel free to throw in a few songs from the show, like the theme “Red Right Hand.”

Photo booth

What better way to capture the party and all your guests’ amazing costumes than with a photo booth? The best place to find a venue with one already on-site is Peerspace. There are some great options out there, like this creative industrial vibe venue in Essex!
